IT Operations Manager Jobs

The IT operations manager is responsible for managing existing operations and implementing new operations processes within his or her organization; managing expectations across all stakeholder groups; sharing responsibility for project success; the day-to-day management of IT organization processes, including performance management, plan monitoring and evolution, metrics development, and management; management of the procurement of all IT-related purchases; recommending infrastructure improvements; developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with operational policies and procedures; and maintaining computer operations, network, and telephone capabilities by utilizing a combination of internal resources as well as external vendors. Similar positions with different titles include IT project manager, senior project manager, web projects manager, and IT director.
Candidates applying for IT operations manager positions may have bachelor's degrees in computer science and engineering or information technology. Any applicant for an IT operations manager job should have five-plus years of IT operations experience and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects at any given time.
