Safety Health Vice President Jobs

A senior management based position, the vice president of environmental health and safety is responsible for providing strategic leadership to all environmental health and safety matters in the organization. Responsibilities include ensuring that all the EHS programs are implemented effectively and operations are in compliance with OSHA and other government regulations; mentoring and directing the efforts of EHS managers or environmental safety directors; participating in change management processes and strategic management issues as they may arise; and participating in long-term direction of EHS programs and safety policies of the company. Typically, a vice president of environmental health and safety reports directly to the CEO.

A vice president of environmental health and safety should have a bachelor\'s or preferably a master\'s degree in chemical engineering, environmental science, physical sciences, industrial safety management or a relevant field. Such positions generally require 10 to 15 years of experience in the field of environmental health and safety regulation and management.
