Logistics Supervisor Jobs

A logistics supervisor is responsible for leading and directing a logistics department. Specific duties of a logistics supervisor include negotiating transportation vendor contracts and managing in-house fleet operations; selecting third-party warehouses for temporary storage of goods; engaging in performance management; taking part in regulatory compliance related issues; supporting the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements and specifications; establishing and monitoring adherence to program plans and schedules; identifying program problems and obtaining solutions; ensuring that all the organizational resources are best utilized; creating a relation of prolonged trust and reliability with customers. A logistics supervisor typically reports to the engineering director.
A logistics supervisor should have a BA/BS degree in a relevant area. Several years of experience in managing logistics is required. Excellent academic credentials and ability to prioritize activities are required.
