Family Law Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a skilled Family Law Litigation Attorney to manage a caseload that spans all aspects of family law, from motion practice and mediation to settlement negotiations and trial. This role requires a professional with a proven track record of managing cases effectively, maintaining strong client relationships, and achieving favorable outcomes. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with excellent communication and advocacy skills, and a deep understanding of family law procedures.

Duties:

• Independently manage all aspects of a family law caseload, including motion practice, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Develop and implement case strategies in alignment with clients' goals.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure timely progress and updates on cases.
• Participate in internal team and one-on-one meetings to discuss cases and strategies.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and records.
• Track and adhere to important deadlines in the litigation process.
• Draft and submit high-quality legal documents, including pleadings and letters.
• Engage in negotiations and settlement discussions with opposing counsel.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients, providing legal counsel and support.
• Display strong oral advocacy skills when presenting in court or during hearings.
• Utilize technology effectively, including MS Office, practice management, billing software, and video conferencing tools.
• Maintain knowledge of court rules and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Work efficiently under pressure while managing sensitive and confidential client information.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law litigation.
• Proven ability to handle complex family law cases from start to finish, including trial experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to create and execute legal strategies that align with client objectives.
• Proficient with technology and legal software (MS Office, practice management, billing tools, etc.).
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
• Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Utah Bar license (Required).
