Job Overview

A law firm seeks a seasoned Bank Litigation Attorney in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for an accomplished litigator with at least seven years of experience, preferably representing financial institutions. The candidate will manage cases independently, produce exceptional written work, and contribute to the firm's growth. Some portable business is preferred.

Duties

  • Independently manage and litigate bank litigation matters from pre-suit through trial and appeal.
  • Draft, review, and oversee high-quality pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, and other litigation filings.
  • Develop and execute litigation strategy in coordination with clients.
  • Appear in court for hearings, trials, mediations, and negotiations.
  • Provide counsel to financial institution clients, including risk assessment and resolution planning.
  • Mentor and supervise associates and support staff as appropriate.
  • Actively participate in business development efforts, including client relationship management and expansion of existing accounts.
  • Maintain exceptional client communication and the highest standards of professionalism.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas.
  • Minimum of seven years of substantive litigation experience with some banking litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle matters independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proven success in court proceedings, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
  • Portable business is preferred, though not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Texas.
