A law firm in Purchase, NY, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience handling general liability and/or professional liability claims. The ideal candidate will possess superior analytical and communication skills, be licensed in New York, and have experience in representing architects and engineers or handling complex construction claims.

Duties:

• Manage own caseload under partner oversight
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Conduct legal research and write memorandums
• Attend hearings and court conferences
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Attend inspections and consultations with expert witnesses
• Participate in mediations and trial preparation
• Assist in trials as needed

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience handling general liability and/or professional liability claims
• Superior analytical and communication skills
• Licensed to practice law in New York

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Skills:

• Legal drafting proficiency
• Strong analytical abilities
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to manage a caseload independently
• Trial preparation and litigation experience
