Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will play a vital role in all aspects of cases, collaborating with experienced attorneys to handle professional liability, general liability, and commercial coverage matters.

Duties:

• Involvement in all stages of cases from pre-suit claim investigation through mediation, arbitration, trial, and appeal
• Analyzing and summarizing legal documents
• Conducting legal and factual research on individuals, businesses, and worksites
• Evaluating cases and strategically developing defenses
• Conducting client meetings and offering strategic recommendations
• Investigating facts, planning, preparing, and conducting depositions
• Preparing and presenting motions
• Conducting hearings and mediations
• Preparing witnesses and corporate representatives
• Briefing at trial and appellate courts
• Writing defense mediation summaries
• Reviewing and interpreting financial records (a plus)

Requirements:

• Active license in good standing with the State of Georgia
• 1-5 years of experience in defense litigation
• Solid insurance defense experience preferred
• Experience with professional liability and/or coverage litigation is a plus

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Bar admission in Georgia

Skills:

• Critical thinking and research skills
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to review and interpret financial records (preferred)
