Billing & Accounting Manager
The candidate is responsible for all firm’s accounts payable and receivable functions. Ensure that all vendor bills are paid on time. Work with billing coordinator to process attorney expense reimbursement checks. Ensure that all attorney time and expenses are accounted for. Work with billing coordinator to ensure that all time and expenses are correctly reflected on prebills. Distribute prebills to billing timekeepers; process returned prebills. Ensure client bills are distributed via mail, email, or EDI to all firm clients. Manage cash receipts, audit client payments and when necessary, handle collections. Maintain and control the general ledger. Perform bank reconciliations. Prepare and analyze the budget/forecast. Responsible for 1099 processing at the end of the year. Work with Firm director to prepare firm’s taxes. Address billing department questions. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA is preferred. Must be proficient in Excel and willing to learn Orion. Previous legal billing experience is required. Problem Solving is needed. Detailed oriented and organized is required. Strong quantitative abilities are required.
