Litigation Attorney

A law firm is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Attorney to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in litigating various complex tort and business disputes, providing defense for individuals, insurance entities, and corporate clients. This role demands proficiency in written and oral advocacy, independent handling of litigation matters, and the ability to work under minimal supervision while receiving partner oversight.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Litigate matters involving catastrophic casualty claims, premises liability, product liability, dram shop, hospitality-related litigation, transportation & logistics, and other complex torts and business disputes.
• Defend individual, insurance, and corporate/SIR clients in various legal matters.
• Independently handle litigation matters from responding to the complaint through pre-trial conferences.
• Conduct depositions and participate in motion practice.
• Prepare and present legal arguments effectively in both written and oral formats.
• Work autonomously on assigned cases while collaborating with partners for oversight and guidance.
• Attend and represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and trials as needed.
• Develop case strategies and provide legal advice to clients.
• Manage case files, ensuring all documentation is current and organized.
• Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure comprehensive case management.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of law firm litigation experience.
• Proven experience in catastrophic casualty claims, premises liability, product liability, dram shop, hospitality litigation, transportation & logistics, and other complex torts.
• Strong proficiency in written and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Deposition experience is mandatory.
• Some trial experience is desired but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage cases with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a high level of client service.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Must be an active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
