A prestigious law firm is seeking a Senior Cyber Incident Response Attorney to join its cybersecurity and data privacy team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead significant breach response and cybersecurity litigation matters. Manage incident response for cybersecurity and data privacy incidents
Serve as lead counsel in interactions with clients, insurance carriers, and breach response teams
Oversee Associates handling breach response tasks
Advise senior management and technical teams at client organizations
Analyze and interpret state, federal, and international privacy laws
Draft legal notices for data breaches to individuals and regulators
Respond to regulatory investigations resulting from cybersecurity breaches
Defend privacy lawsuits
Draft privacy and security policies and compliance procedures for HIPAA, GLBA, CCPA, and other statutes
Manage forensic investigations and third-party vendors for e-Discovery and data mining
Provide strategic counsel on notification obligations under applicable laws
Draft breach notification letters and crisis communication materials
Interface directly with regulators and insurance carriers
Prepare legal budgets and detailed client reports
Supervise and mentor junior team members
Minimum of 7 years of experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, or breach incident response
Strong understanding of data breach and privacy regulations (HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, GDPR)
Ability to manage multiple breach matters and coordinate vendors effectively
Strong leadership and client management skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the Bar in good standing (in any U.S. jurisdiction)
Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills (Lexis and Westlaw proficiency)
IT or technical background preferred but not required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Crisis communication drafting and strategic advisory skills
Litigation experience is a plus
