Senior Counsel, Technology and Privacy

The candidate will provide in-house commercial counsel to firm business units, including the wholesale team, the digital/e-commerce team, information security, and our technology team, assist in the shaping and management of the firm’s Privacy Program; and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable data privacy laws and regulations. Manage the firm's Privacy Program and all associated legal work, including privacy policies, consents, notices, and compliance in applicable jurisdictions. Responsible for analyzing, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of agreements; communicates with business partners; seeks and obtains advice of other counsel. Maintain consumer-facing privacy policies, notices, consents, and internal privacy policies and procedures. Review existing activities, policies, and procedures, and perform privacy impact assessments and privacy-by-design guidance to ensure compliance with the ever-changing landscape of privacy laws and regulations. Collaborate with Information Security on cyber security policies and procedures, vendor assessments, as well as ongoing privacy and security training and awareness activities. Manage commercial disputes, as needed. Manages outside counsel in an effective and efficient manner. Work in parallel with other members of the legal team in multiple regions of the world to provide strategic direction, while aligning the legal activities with recognized best practices. Organizing people, projects, and work design to best meet the needs of the business. Stay current on relevant laws and regulations that affect the company’s operations, including data privacy laws and regulations in domestic and applicable international jurisdictions. Act discreetly in handling sensitive and confidential matters. Perform additional projects and responsibilities, as requested.
