Profile

Create a Project Charter, Statement of Work, Work Breakdown Structure, and Project Closeout Plan for each project

Create and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project to ensure each project is completed within the given timeframe

Manage the project budget with regards to project resources, equipment purchases, outside contractors, and scope changes

Coordination of outside engineering companies, fabrication companies, and consultants

Monitor compliance to applicable mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation requirements to codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications (internal and client)

Interact closely with the client to properly interpret needs and requirements and to represent MTR in meetings

Create Pipe and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) and other engineering documents

Create purchasing specifications for pressure vessel and heat exchanger procurement

Select and oversee project fabrication

Specify and procure instrumentation and valves

Travel to fabrication shop, customer, and job site

Assign responsibilities and mentor project engineers and other specialists

Create monthly project update reports for all stakeholders

Issue purchase order requisitions and manage delivery progress of purchased parts

Manage all incoming and outgoing project documents

Job Requirements:

5-8 years of prior engineering work experience

Proven working experience as a project manager

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Experience using AutoCAD 2D

Ability to work on multiple projects

Decision making ability and leadership skills

Time management and organizational skills

Ability to travel

Experience using Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel programs

Preferred Requirements:

Experience in the petrochemical, refinery, or natural gas industry

Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards. Examples include ASME, API, NEC, IEC, etc.
