A law firm seeks an experienced IP Attorney to join their Mechanical Practice Group in Greenville, SC. The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of clients, from early-stage companies to Fortune 100 corporations, across industries such as automotive, power generation, aerospace, and consumer appliances. This role involves securing patent protection and providing strategic intellectual property counsel.

Duties

• Partner with in-house teams to develop and execute global IP strategies.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Draft opinions of counsel.
• Conduct due diligence investigations and perform freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses.

Requirements

• A degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering with relevant experience.
• Must be a member of the U.S. patent bar.
• Minimum of 2 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience required.

Education

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering.

Certifications

• Membership in the U.S. patent bar.
