Labor and Employment Career Associate Attorney

A law firm in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Career Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending employers against single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases, as well as ERISA litigation. This role requires occasional in-office presence for meetings, depositions, and court appearances. The successful candidate will possess an excellent academic record, solid experience in employment litigation, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Duties:

• Defend employers in employment-related litigation, including single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases.
• Handle ERISA litigation and provide legal counsel on related employment matters.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
• Represent clients in depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
• Collaborate with clients to develop and implement effective case strategies.
• Manage a diverse caseload efficiently, ensuring compliance with deadlines and court requirements.
• Stay updated on labor and employment law changes and relevant regulations.

Requirements:

• 4-7 years of experience in employment litigation matters.
• Demonstrated success in defending employers before agencies and courts.
• Excellent academic background with a thorough understanding of labor and employment law.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven ability to handle complex cases and meet deadlines.
• Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in the state of Virginia, or eligibility to obtain admission.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of employment law, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and ERISA litigation.
