Duties

  • Represent clients in all aspects of adoption cases, including consultations, filings, hearings, and finalization.
  • Draft and review adoption petitions, agreements, and related legal documents.
  • Advise clients on Texas adoption laws and regulations, ensuring compliance throughout the process.
  • Coordinate with adoption agencies, social workers, and state agencies as necessary.
  • Advocate for clients in court proceedings and negotiations.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
  • Provide empathetic and client-centered service to individuals and families.
  • Collaborate with the firm's legal team and support staff to deliver exceptional results.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of practicing adoption law in Texas; five years preferred.
  • Valid Texas bar license for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Strong understanding of Texas Family Code and adoption procedures.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Passion for conducting hearings and handling mediations and consults.
  • High level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of TxDoc and Clio or similar drafting/client management software, MS Office or Google Suite proficiency.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
