Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Salem is seeking a Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of benefits experience in private practice. The ideal candidate should have experience with qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements. Additionally, supporting benefits and compensation in M&A, ERISA litigation, and withdrawal liability experience is a plus. The candidate must be detail-oriented and possess excellent writing, oral advocacy, communication, and legal analysis skills.

Duties:

• Work with qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements
• Support benefits and compensation in M&A transactions
• Handle ERISA litigation and withdrawal liability matters
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Draft legal documents and agreements
• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients
• Assist with client meetings and communications
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of benefits experience in private practice
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA accredited law school
• Excellent academic credentials
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar (if applicable)
