Duties:

• Handle family law cases from start to finish, including intake, case strategy, discovery, and litigation

• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence with precision and professionalism

• Represent clients in court hearings, settlement conferences, and trials

• Supervise and review the work of paralegals and legal assistants

• Manage deadlines and case timelines across multiple matters

• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts

• Engage in collaborative problem-solving with legal team members

• Adapt to remote collaboration tools and hybrid workflows

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of direct family law experience (civil litigation experience may be considered for less experienced candidates)

• Active license to practice law in Virginia

• Familiarity with court procedures and practices across Northern Virginia

• Ability to prioritize competing client and partner demands

• Demonstrated reliability in managing sensitive information with discretion

• Strong command of written and oral communication, including legal writing and grammar

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Virginia State Bar membership

• Additional bar admissions in DC and/or Maryland are considered advantageous

Skills:

• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing capabilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and virtual collaboration tools

• Effective time management and task organization

• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and within a team

• Critical thinker with a practical approach to case strategy

• Comfortable in a hybrid work environment with remote responsibilities
