Marketing Events Manager

The candidate will lead all aspects of Spencer Fane marketing events programming in a manner that aligns with the firm’s client development goals and objectives. As a member of the client development team. Collaborate closely with Client Development Managers to develop events and sponsorships designed to engage existing and prospective clients, as well as other key stakeholder communities of the firm. Partner with individuals and teams across the firm to develop event and sponsorship concepts that position attorneys to establish and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients. Plan and execute the firm’s events programming in a manner that aligns with firm-wide, office and practice group marketing plans and strategies. Collaborate with the client development team to deploy post-event initiatives designed to realize the full opportunity created through an event. Work with marketing communications team to promote events and sponsorship programming across Spencer Fane communications channels, e.g. website, social, etc.. Create detailed post-event reports to help the business development team and event stakeholders measure ROI. With the support of the events team, oversee all Spencer Fane-branded in-person and virtual event programming ranging from open houses and off-site functions to CLE programs and virtual seminars. Leverage the firm’s investment in sponsorships by managing engagement with professional associations and organizations, including chambers of commerce, industry associations, and nonprofit organizations. Oversee all firm wide event contracts in collaboration with office administrators, practice group leaders, and individual attorneys. Manage firm-wide events calendar for purposes of maximizing the opportunity of the firm’s investment in its event or sponsorship programming while ensuring these same engagements are resourced appropriately. Should have 5-7 years of experience in an event planning, marketing, or business development position. Previous managerial experience in a law firm or professional services environment is required. Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce a plus), virtual meeting platforms, and marketing content management systems (Pardot a plus) is required.
