Liability and Workers Comp Attorney

A law firm in McLean, VA, is seeking a seasoned Liability and Workers' Comp Attorney to represent employers, restaurants, and retail establishments in defense of workers’ compensation and liability claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling various legal disputes, including toxic tort claims, premises liability, commercial liability disputes, and motor vehicle-related claims.

Duties:

• Represent employers, restaurants, and retail establishments in defense of workers’ compensation and liability claims in state and federal courts and administrative tribunals.
• Defend product manufacturers in toxic tort claims, corporations in premises liability disputes, and insured entities in motor vehicle-related property and bodily injury claims.
• Conduct research on complicated legal issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and discovery requests and responses in a timely manner.
• Work closely with other attorneys and support staff.
• Handle court appearances, client meetings, and depositions.
• Communicate regularly with clients.

Requirements:

• Member of the Virginia State Bar.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years of experience in Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Education and Certifications:

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Membership in the Virginia State Bar.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
