This role involves managing all facets of defending workers' compensation claims and working directly with clients such as insurance companies, third-party administrators, and employers. The ideal candidate should be proficient in litigation and demonstrate strong communication, research, and organizational skills.

Duties

• Evaluate and prepare cases for defense, ensuring comprehensive documentation and strategy development
• Manage the discovery process, including gathering evidence and conducting research
• Attend and represent clients at hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials
• Draft and file pleadings in response to applicants' claims
• Provide status updates and correspondence to clients regarding active claims
• Develop case strategies and recommend courses of action
• Perform legal research and analyze case law to support case strategy
• Negotiate settlements and handle lien management
• Maintain detailed case files and ensure accurate reporting of hearings and appearances
• Execute administrative tasks in line with legal responsibilities

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation defense
• In-depth understanding of workers' compensation law and related legal matters
• Ability to effectively spot legal issues across various practice areas
• Proven ability to manage a caseload efficiently and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Technologically proficient with legal tools and platforms

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
