Recruiting & Client Development Manager
The candidate will manage the planning and implementation of the Summer Associate Program including on-boarding/off-boarding, work assignments and evaluations, advisor programs, budget tracking, and event planning and attendance. Oversee implementation of strategic marketing efforts for the West Coast offices including business development initiatives, sponsorships and events, and lateral attorney integration. Coordinate law school on-campus recruiting programs for assigned schools. Work closely with local Hiring Partners on coordinating callback interviews and the offer process. Oversee and track law school outreach efforts. Serve as school lead and manage all recruiting efforts at assigned schools. Work with local office and department leadership to determine lateral hiring needs. Facilitate onboarding, orientation and integration for new lateral lawyers working in conjunction with the Director of Partner Integration & Coaching by serving as regional liaison with counterparts across the Firm. Prepare content for internal meetings with Partners in Charge, Hiring Partners, West Coast Partners, and the Strategic Business Development Committee. Approve all recruiting and business development related expenses and manage the local Recruiting and Client Development budgets. Coordinate the drafting and editing of select business development and recruiting materials, including presentations, lateral candidate and marketing collateral, and electronic newsletters/updates. Track and maintain accurate recruiting and client development data and metrics and prepare reports and analysis as needed for internal and external purposes. Assist in supervision, training and development of local office Recruiting and Client Development team. Other special projects as assigned by the Recruiting and Client Development Directors, Senior Managers and Chief Client Officer. Frequent contact with vendors/suppliers, industry organizations/conference providers and others in the event planning arena for client-facing and recruiting events. Regular contact with firm clients and prospective clients in connection with firm events and initiatives. Contact with potential lateral hires. Extensive daily contact with lawyers and colleagues within the Recruiting and Client Development departments. Regular contact with other staff departments within the firm (professional development, practice management, etc.). Bachelor’s or better degree is required. Should have 4+ years of recruiting or marketing experience in a legal or professional services environment. Big law experience is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point) and CRM software (InterAction preferred); working knowledge of Vuture, Foundation, PitchPerfect, and Sitecore is a plus.
