Duties:

  • Manage patent portfolios for clients in the technology and engineering sectors.
  • Lead patent prosecution efforts, including preparing and filing patent applications, drafting office action responses, and handling patent appeals.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to strategize and refine their intellectual property portfolios, particularly in fields such as wireless technologies, AI, and image processing.
  • Provide strategic advice regarding patentability, infringement analysis, and other patent-related matters.
  • Liaise with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to ensure compliance with filing deadlines and procedural requirements.
  • Stay informed of developments in the patent law field and emerging technological trends.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of patent prosecution experience, specifically in the electrical engineering field.
  • Registered with the USPTO or eligible to become registered.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of 5G, Wi-Fi, wireless communications, AI, memory systems, and processor technologies.
  • Admission to a state bar is required, or eligibility to waived.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and clients.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

Certifications:

  • USPTO Registration (or eligibility to obtain).

Skills:

  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Proficiency in patent law, including patent prosecution and litigation.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage client relationships effectively.
  • Experience in patent portfolio management and strategic development.
