A law firm seeks a Personal Injury Attorney in Chicago, IL. This role involves managing personal injury cases from inception to resolution with minimal oversight. The attorney will collaborate with team members across various locations.

Duties

• Negotiate and settle cases in the pre-litigation stage.
• Handle a wide range of litigation matters to resolution.
• Review policies, claims, and other records.
• Prepare, write, and argue legal documents.
• Draft complaints and responses to dispositive motions.
• Attend court status calls, depositions, and arbitrations weekly.
• Manage docket of cases according to office policy.
• Oversee and direct discovery, including medical record reviews and assessments.
• Manage and oversee legal staff working on assigned caseload.
• Assess and monitor deadlines and statutes of limitations to ensure timely case progress.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing personal injury cases, including all litigation phases.
• Current law license in the state of Illinois required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Illinois BAR License preferred.

Skills

• Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
• Ability to manage and oversee legal staff.
• Proficient in legal document preparation and argumentation.
