Duties: Lead department-wide legislative services for DHHS. Direct entire lifecycle of legislative process; supervise activities of legislative liaison(s) in support of department policies; consult with CEO and division staff on legislative strategy; collaborate with Legal and Budget staffs to ensure coordination and timely communication of legislative initiatives and requests. Coordination of legislative proposals . Legislative impact review . Preparation for hearings . Legislator and constituent relations . Bill implementation . Supervise activities of legislative liaison(s) in support of department policies . Legislative relations . Calls, letters, meetings . Document review and timeline management . Coordination and communication among division directors, policy managers, etc.. Documentation of calls, meetings and hearings . Electronic document management . Consult with CEO and division staff on legislative strategy . High-level summation and communication of bills and impacts. Explanation of legislative process, timelines and decision points . Facilitation of bill negotiation, in coordination with the Governor’s Policy Research Office Collaborate with Legal and Budget staffs to ensure coordination and timely communication of legislative initiatives and requests.
