Fiduciary Accountant
The candidate will establish close rapport with client and beneficiaries to ensure positive and cooperative working relationships. Prepare probate and administration documents for formal and informal proceedings. Collect, analyze, and organize decedent’s financial records, including tax returns, trust agreements, deeds, stock powers, and financial statements. Prepare required documents in connection with release of federal and state estate tax liens on real property and prepare Executor’s deeds. Consider post-mortem estate planning and prepare disclaimer documents. Compile materials required in connection with an audit of estate and/or inheritance tax returns. Prepare and file Accountings and related settlement documents. Assist attorneys, as needed, in connection with drafting Wills, other estate planning documents. Special projects and duties, as assigned. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; paralegal certificate is strongly preferred. Should have 5+ years of experience in trusts and estates required. Experience as a paralegal in a law firm is strongly preferred. Previous experience with a variety of tax programs, including programs for estate and inheritance tax, fiduciary income tax, estate tax, and securities evaluations is required.
