Public Sector Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to support its expanding public-sector practice in Saint Paul, MN.

Duties

• Counsel and represent governmental clients—including school districts, municipalities, and counties—in a variety of matters

• Draft and review motions, pleadings, contracts, and administrative filings

• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on constitutional, special education, labor & employment, and land-use issues

• Participate in investigations, hearings, and negotiations on behalf of public entities

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and subject-matter experts on complex civil litigation and compliance matters

• Manage case calendars, deadlines, and client communications

Requirements

• 0–3 years of legal experience (public-sector or related background preferred)

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple matters with accuracy and attention to detail

• Strong analytical, drafting, and advocacy skills

• Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment

• Passion for public-sector work and commitment to serving government clients

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Admission to the Minnesota Bar, or scheduled to sit for the next Minnesota Bar examination
