A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate to join its Tampa, FL office. This position is designed for a driven attorney with 1 to 4 years of experience in complex litigation. Duties:

  • Research complex legal and factual issues to support case strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents required for litigation matters.
  • Participate in trial preparation, working closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategy.
  • Assist in presenting oral arguments and advocating for clients in court.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to handle multifaceted legal issues in various practice areas.
  • Manage case files and ensure adherence to deadlines and procedural requirements.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing legal advice and updates as needed.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of relevant litigation experience, with a focus on high-stakes cases.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically in complex legal scenarios.
  • Experience drafting legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and motivation to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar or eligibility for admission soon.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school.
  • The top 10% of the class preferred.
  • Participation in law review, moot court, or trial team is a plus.
  • Judicial clerkship, particularly with a U.S. District Judge, is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admission to The Florida Bar or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • High level of motivation, with a focus on delivering quality work under pressure.
  • Familiarity with complex legal issues in litigation, including environmental, real estate, white-collar crime, and commercial cases.
