Job Overview: A law firm in Columbia, SC, seeks a dedicated Personal Injury Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing clients in personal injury cases, from initial consultation through trial, focusing on client communication, legal research, drafting legal documents, and courtroom advocacy.

Duties:

• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts throughout the litigation process.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Lead mediations and negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
• Develop effective case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials and hearings.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience practicing personal injury law or civil litigation.
• Licensed to practice law in South Carolina and good standing with the SC State Bar.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and responding to motions.
• Substantial knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the South Carolina State Bar.
