Ideal candidates will possess deep knowledge of education law and the ability to work independently while adapting to evolving legal challenges in the education sector.

Provide legal counsel to boards of education and educational institutions on a wide range of matters
Draft and review school policies, employment agreements, administrative regulations, and contracts
Advise on legal compliance related to federal and state education laws
Represent clients in administrative proceedings, board meetings, and other public forums
Handle legal matters involving student discipline, special education, employment disputes, and governance issues
Monitor changes in education law and proactively advise clients on potential impacts
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience practicing education law
Demonstrated history of representing public or private educational entities
Prior experience in a law firm or government agency handling education matters
Ability to manage complex matters independently and think strategically
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Strong academic credentials preferred
Active license to practice law in North Carolina or eligibility for admission
Comprehensive understanding of federal and state education laws and administrative procedures
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Proven capacity to build trust and provide effective counsel to educational clients
Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively
