Duties

  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and civil rights complaints
  • Conduct legal research on constitutional law, civil rights statutes, and case precedents
  • Manage all phases of discovery, including interrogatories, document requests, and depositions
  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and depositions in federal and state venues
  • Prepare exhibits, witness outlines, and trial notebooks for bench and jury trials
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting civil rights enforcement
  • Liaise with community organizations, expert witnesses, and co-counsel to support case objectives
  • Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals in litigation best practices

Requirements

  • Active admission to the Connecticut Bar
  • Five years of plaintiffs' civil rights litigation experience
  • Proven track record of handling complex Section 1983, ADA, Title VII, or related claims
  • Familiarity with federal court procedures and local rules
  • Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet strict deadlines

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Connecticut Bar admission
