Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Associate Attorney in Bethpage, New York, to join their team specializing in CVA litigation and insurance defense. The role involves analyzing lawsuits, preparing pleadings, and conducting depositions and conferences. The ideal candidate is organized, a team player, and capable of managing a high volume of court appearances, both virtual and in-person.

Duties

• Conduct depositions and attend court conferences and motion practice.
• Participate as trial and/or appellate attorney in complex cases.
• Make independent decisions in file handling and communicate effectively with the Legal Management Team.
• Work efficiently in a paperless environment and utilize video conferencing and legal case management systems.
• Maintain minimum billing requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of relevant litigation and trial experience.
• Licensed to practice law in New York State and admitted to Federal Court in the Eastern and Southern District.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York State.

Skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer software, including Windows OS, MS Word, MS Teams, and MS Outlook.
• Ability to adapt to new programs and improve processes.
