Job Overview:
A Baltimore-based law firm is seeking a litigation attorney with at least two years of experience in insurance defense matters. This mid-level role emphasizes case management across a range of liability areas, including personal injury and property damage. Duties:

• Manage a caseload involving insurance defense matters, including personal injury and property damage claims

• Handle pleadings, discovery, motions, and related litigation documents

• Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda

• Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, and client meetings

• Collaborate with other attorneys and professional staff

• Maintain regular communication with clients and meet critical deadlines

• Assist with litigation matters involving product liability, construction claims, toxic torts, transportation issues, and premises liability

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Maryland (required)

• Additional licensure in DC, PA, or VA is advantageous

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation

• 4-8 years of experience preferred.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities

• Proficiency in preparing complex legal documents under time constraints

• Willingness to be onsite in the Baltimore office at least 3 days per week, and full-time onsite during an initial training period of 90–180 days

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Maryland Bar

Skills:

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

• Strong organizational and project management capabilities

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Detail-oriented with a proactive and self-driven approach

• Familiarity with electronic document systems in a paperless environment
