Job Overview

A law firm seeks a diligent and detail-oriented Workup and Settlement Attorney to join their remote team in Chicago, IL. This role involves managing cases eligible for settlements in large mass torts, guiding clients through the offer process, and collaborating with legal assistants and other team members. The attorney will also participate in the elevation rotation regularly.

Duties

• Collaborate with the case management team to evaluate settlement-eligible clients.
• Manage client interactions during the settlement offer process.
• Coordinate with case managers and legal assistants to execute casework efficiently.
• Serve as the on-call attorney as part of the elevation rotation.
• Interact with clients, outside counsel, and vendors to support case resolution.
• Contribute to refining the firm's settlement processes.

Requirements

• Openness to perform unconventional legal work requiring client interaction.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently or as part of a team.

Education

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active member of a US State Bar in good standing.

Skills

• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software preferred.
• Experience reviewing medical records and familiarity with medical terminology.
