A law firm based in Pittsburgh is currently seeking a Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join their team. The Labor and Employment Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to clients on various labor and employment law matters. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in labor and employment law and must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania. Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients on labor and employment law matters, including employment discrimination, wage and hour disputes, and workplace harassment.
  • Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and handbooks to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on labor and employment law issues and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC).
  • Assist with the preparation and defense of employment-related litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Advise clients on labor relations matters, including collective bargaining agreements, union organizing campaigns, and unfair labor practices.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
  • 1-3 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

Education & Certifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Skills:

  • Legal research and analysis.
  • Drafting legal documents and pleadings.
  • Client counseling and communication.
  • Litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Knowledge of labor and employment law statutes and regulations.
