Job Title: Real Estate /Commercial Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Uniondale, NY is seeking a highly experienced attorney with a strong background in real estate and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years of experience and will be capable of handling complex landlord-tenant matters, commercial disputes, and litigation involving real estate operators. This position offers extensive courtroom exposure, direct client interaction, and opportunities to work with a dynamic clientele consisting of high-profile landlords and developers, particularly in the NYC area.

Duties:

• Represent clients in NYC landlord-tenant court, including regular court appearances

• Draft legal motions including summary judgment and discovery-related motions

• Handle plenary actions involving breach of lease, guaranty, or contract

• Prepare and review legal documents such as predicate notices (rent demands, notices to cure, termination notices) and petitions (non-payment, holdover)

• Draft lease modifications, surrender agreements, and related documents

• Provide daily legal advice to real estate clients with assets across residential and commercial sectors

• Manage high-volume correspondence, maintaining timely responses to internal and external communications

• Participate in trials and hearings as needed

• Contribute to strategic litigation planning and case management

• Work in collaboration with litigation and real estate teams to support ongoing and new client matters

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of litigation experience, with an emphasis on real estate or commercial matters

• Prior experience with NYC-based landlord-tenant proceedings

• Familiarity with drafting and negotiating landlord-tenant-related agreements

• Strong written advocacy and oral argument skills

• Ability to manage a high-intensity workflow with strict deadlines

• Knowledge of NYC and broader U.S. real estate legal landscapes

• Previous trial experience in landlord-tenant matters preferred

• Commercial or construction litigation experience is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Admission to practice law in New York State

Certifications:

• Active New York Bar admission required

Job Location:
