A law firm seeks a highly qualified Patent Associate to join its Biotechnology team in Atlanta, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in life sciences-related patent and intellectual property work, including counseling, due diligence, patent preparation and prosecution, and drafting and negotiating IP agreements.

Duties

• Conduct patent preparation and prosecution.
• Provide counseling and due diligence in IP matters.
• Draft and negotiate intellectual property agreements.
• Engage in interparty matters as needed.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of relevant experience in life sciences patent work.
• Active Bar admission in Georgia, New York, or Pennsylvania.
• Registration with the USPTO.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

Education

• Graduate degree in molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, or a related area required.
• Ph.D. preferred.

Certifications

• USPTO registration.

Skills

• Proficiency in patent preparation and prosecution.
