Job Overview:
A law firm based in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a motivated attorney with experience in workers’ compensation and employer liability matters. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement and requires courtroom and case-handling skills across Maryland and Pennsylvania, with flexibility to operate in nearby jurisdictions. The position is ideal for candidates with a background in insurance defense, workers’ compensation, or personal injury litigation who are looking to join a collaborative and well-established legal team.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation claims from inception to resolution

• Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare legal memoranda

• Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations as required

• Engage in direct communication with clients, opposing counsel, and claims representatives

• Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court procedures and client requirements

• Collaborate with team members to develop litigation strategies

• Analyze medical records and employment documentation relevant to claims

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Maryland and Pennsylvania

• Minimum of two years’ experience handling workers’ compensation defense matters

• Familiarity with Maryland and Pennsylvania workers’ compensation frameworks

• Previous exposure to employer liability or insurance defense cases

• Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven setting

• Exceptional organizational, writing, and communication skills

• Admission in additional jurisdictions such as DC, DE, VA, or WV is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active and good standing bar memberships in MD and PA (additional states are a bonus)

Skills:

• Legal research and drafting proficiency

• Case strategy development and litigation planning

• Strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities

• Analytical thinking and attention to detail

• Ability to work autonomously and within a team structure

• Technological proficiency, particularly with digital document management systems

Job Location:
