Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Family Immigration Attorney for a hybrid role based in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in removal defense and family-based immigration, with a commitment to making a significant impact in clients' lives.

Duties

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings and family-based immigration matters.
  • Develop case strategies and draft motions, briefs, and filings.
  • Provide clear, compassionate counsel to clients navigating high-stakes immigration issues.
  • Lead and supervise a team of paralegals and legal support staff.
  • Collaborate with a high-performing, mission-driven legal team.

Requirements

  • 3-7+ years of experience in removal defense and family-based immigration law.
  • Active Georgia Bar license (or eligible to waive in; other state licenses considered).
  • Fluent in Spanish (required).
  • Proven ability to supervise paralegals and manage an independent caseload.
  • Experience with KPI and metric-based attorney evaluations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and legal writing skills.
  • Ability to build strong rapport with clients and communicate with clarity and empathy.
  • Genuine passion for advocating for immigrants and guiding them through difficult challenges.
  • High-level interpersonal and organizational skills, with excellent research and writing ability.
  • Working knowledge of immigration case management systems and strong tech skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Georgia Bar license (or eligible to waive in; other state licenses considered).

Skills

  • Fluency in Spanish.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent legal writing and research skills.
  • Proficiency in immigration case management systems.
