Civil Defense Litigation Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join its civil defense litigation practice in Merritt Island, FL. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a reputable firm, working under Board-Certified supervision and engaging in all phases of civil defense litigation.

Duties

• Assist in managing a diverse caseload of civil defense litigation matters.
• Draft, review, and respond to legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategies and document preparation.
• Collaborate closely with senior attorneys for case assessment, strategy, and trial preparation.
• Attend court appearances, depositions, and mediations as needed.
• Maintain effective communication with clients to keep them informed on case progress.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in civil defense litigation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Florida State Bar license (Bar Number required).
