Job Title: Employment Law Attorney

Job Overview:
A Jacksonville-based law firm is actively seeking an Employment Law Attorney to join its dynamic practice focusing on employee rights. The role centers on advocating for individuals facing workplace discrimination, wage disputes, wrongful termination, and violations related to medical leave. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing cases from intake to resolution, including litigation in federal court, administrative hearings, and settlement negotiations. This opportunity is well-suited for a legal professional with a strong interest in employee advocacy and complex casework in employment law.

Duties:

• Represent clients in employment-related matters, including claims involving:

  • Discrimination (race, gender, age, disability, religion, national origin, pregnancy)

  • FMLA violations and other leave-related issues

  • Sexual harassment

  • Wage and hour disputes

  • Executive compensation disagreements

• Handle all phases of casework, including:

  • Pre-litigation investigation and client consultation

  • Legal research and drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery

  • Depositions, hearings, and trial preparation

  • Settlement negotiations and mediation

• Appear in federal court and before administrative agencies

• Manage a caseload independently while collaborating with team members when needed

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Florida

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in employment law or related litigation

• Prior experience handling federal court cases

• Demonstrated interest in employee rights and workplace justice

• Comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Florida Bar membership in good standing (required)

Skills:

• Strong analytical and legal writing abilities

• Skilled in oral advocacy and client communication

• Detail-oriented with a strategic approach to litigation

• Capable of managing multiple cases and priorities simultaneously
