A national law firm is actively seeking a Remote Associate Attorney licensed in the State of North Carolina. This full-time position is ideal for a litigation professional with experience in creditors’ rights or civil law, offering the flexibility of remote work while requiring court appearances within reasonable travel distance. This role involves litigation support, motion practice, and effective communication with legal parties.

Location

• Durham, NC

Duties

• Prepare for and attend court appearances within a reasonable travel radius; some locations may require overnight travel.

• Coordinate court coverage when unable to appear personally, including submission of necessary documents and orders.

• Draft, review, and file motions and responses throughout the litigation process.

• Prepare for trials and arbitrations, including those requiring overnight travel.

• Communicate professionally with consumers, their employers, and their legal counsel to assist in resolving legal matters.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in the State of North Carolina.

• Additional bar admissions (e.g., IA, NE, ID, CA, WA, OR, AK, HI, NV) are considered advantageous.

• Reliable personal transportation and the ability to appear punctually in court when needed.

• Willingness to travel as required; reimbursed per IRS mileage rates and firm policy.

• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar membership in North Carolina.

• Additional certifications or bar admissions are a plus.
