Job Overview: A law firm seeks a motivated and diligent Associate Attorney to join their team in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will work in a high-volume environment, gaining valuable courtroom experience. Responsibilities include managing cases, drafting legal documents, and negotiating with opposing parties. Duties:

  • Manage a large caseload, ensuring all cases are up to date and accurately documented.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing parties regarding case progress and updates.
  • Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Appear in court both in-person and via Zoom for hearings, motions, and other proceedings.
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel to achieve favorable resolutions for clients.
  • Maintain and update case files in the firm’s software system.
  • Work collaboratively with legal clerks and other team members to ensure the timely handling of cases.
  • Perform legal research and stay current with changes in relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active and good standing membership with the Georgia State Bar (or pending bar results).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a large caseload effectively.
  • Ability to work autonomously while adhering to deadlines and maintaining discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on client interactions.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve disputes efficiently.
  • Comfortable with both in-person and virtual court appearances.
  • A collaborative approach to working with other attorneys and staff members.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Georgia State Bar membership (or pending).

Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and document preparation.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
