A law firm seeks an entry-level Criminal Defense Associate Attorney in Sacramento, CA. The attorney will manage a caseload involving serious felony and federal cases, report to the Supervising Attorney, and collaborate with a team of attorneys and paralegals.

Duties

• Advise clients on legal rights and draft legal documents.
• Attend pretrial hearings and advise clients on strategies.
• Manage court appearances, trials, and draft motions.
• Interview witnesses and perform legal research.
• Analyze case outcomes using legal precedents.
• Provide legal analysis to determine case benefits.
• Accrue evidence to support client cases.
• Prepare clients for testimony and gather supporting information.

Requirements

• 7 to 15 years of criminal defense experience.
• Trial experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with complex criminal cases at all levels.
• Team player open to collaboration.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in California.

Skills

• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
