Job Overview

A law firm seeks a senior-level Trusts and Estates attorney with over seven years of experience to join their practice in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. This role involves more than basic estate planning, focusing on complex tax mitigation and business succession. The successful candidate will collaborate with partners to address intricate family dynamics and lead client relationships.

Duties

• Draft and implement complex documents like Revocable Living Trusts, ILITs, SLATs, and QPRTs.
• Navigate state and federal income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax issues.
• Oversee probate processes and trust administrations, including tax return preparations.
• Serve as a key client contact, coordinating with financial advisors, CPAs, and family offices.
• Mentor junior associates and paralegals, ensuring technical accuracy and professional growth.

Requirements

• Bar license in NJ and/or PA; NY or Florida licenses are a plus.
• 7+ years of dedicated experience in Trusts and Estates.
• Exceptional drafting skills and emotional intelligence for sensitive discussions.
• A book of business is preferred but not required.

Education

• LL.M. in Taxation is highly preferred.

Certifications

• Bar license in relevant states.
