A law firm is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Advice and Counsel Associate Attorney to join their team in Sacramento, CA. The ideal candidate will be crucial in providing legal advice and counsel to clients on various employment law matters, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and fostering a positive and legally sound work environment.

Job Details:

  • Conduct audits of employer practices, including wage and hour policies and procedures.
  • Draft and revise incentive compensation documents, including commission and bonus plans.
  • Draft and revise policies, handbooks, and other employee communication documents to ensure clarity and compliance.
  • Explain complex employment law issues in a manner understandable to a diverse audience.
  • Identify problem-solving options, presenting the pros and cons of each, enabling clients to make informed decisions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the CA State Bar and in good standing.
  • 7 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local workplace and employment law (additional familiarity with California law is a plus).
  • Understanding current agency (state and federal) enforcement techniques is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience conducting training sessions or workplace investigations is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the California State Bar and in good standing.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
