The ideal candidate should possess at least 3 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience, hold a degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering, and be admitted to the USPTO.

Duties:

  • Conduct patent searches and analyses for medical devices and mechanical engineering innovations.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and legal teams to gather necessary information for patent filings.
  • Provide legal advice and opinions regarding patentability, infringement, and freedom-to-operate.
  • Manage and maintain a portfolio of patent applications.
  • Stay abreast of relevant legal and technological developments in the medical devices and mechanical engineering fields.
  • Assist in client counseling and strategic patent portfolio management.

Requirements:

  • A high level of academic achievement.
  • 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.
  • Admission to the USPTO.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills:

  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with inventors, engineers, and legal teams.
  • Proficiency in patent searches and analyses.
  • Legal advice and opinion drafting.
