Associate Attorney needed for Washington office

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to support its Investment Management team in Washington, DC. The role involves direct client contact and requires business development acumen. The ideal candidate will have a background in matters relating to the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, including registered funds employing alternative investment strategies. Exceptional academic credentials, law firm experience, and communication skills are essential.

Duties:

• Provide legal support and advice to the Investment Management team.
• Conduct research and analysis on legal issues related to investment management.
• Draft and review legal documents, including fund formation documents, contracts, and regulatory filings.
• Assist with client meetings and communications, including direct client contact.
• Collaborate with partners and senior associates on complex legal matters.
• Stay updated on regulatory developments and industry trends in investment management.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment management law.
• Background in matters related to the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
• Outstanding academic credentials from a reputable law school.
• Comparable law firm experience preferred.
• Relevant Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
• Demonstrated business development acumen and client relationship skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
