A law firm in Los Angeles is currently seeking a licensed California attorney to join their team as a Civil Litigation Defense Attorney. This position offers an opportunity for the candidate to develop extensive litigation experience while contributing to the success of the firm. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in court appearances, pleading motions, discovery, depositions, mediations, pre-trial preparation, and trial proceedings. As a Civil Litigation Defense Attorney, you will also be a key point of contact for client relationships.

Job Details:

• Handle court appearances, including presenting motions and arguing cases.
• Draft and file pleadings in a timely and accurate manner.
• Manage the discovery process, including document production and interrogatories.
• Conduct depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Facilitate mediations and negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Prepare extensively for pre-trial proceedings, including legal research and case analysis.
• Represent clients during trial, presenting a compelling case in court.

Requirements:

• Licensed California attorney.
• Demonstrated interest in and commitment to civil litigation defense.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

• Litigation experience, preferably in civil defense.
• Legal research and analytical skills.
• Client-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in drafting legal documents.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic legal environment.
