The candidate will be reviewing and organizing patent files, reviewing docket for deadlines. Prioritizing workload to meet patent foreign filing deadlines and due dates. Preparing and reviewing appropriate correspondence from foreign associates and to clients and associates regarding new patent applications, formal requirements, filing details, etc. Assisting in filing of U.S. and PCT patent applications, both electronically and paper (including preparation and review of necessary filing documents). Processing Office Actions. Filing and assisting in prosecution of design patent applications. Tracking chain of title in U.S. patents and ability to perfect same. Communicating with the USPTO and relevant knowledge regarding the USPTO databases. Preparing, maintaining, and updating reports for clients regarding status of patent applications and issued patents, including reporting filing receipts for applications, publication notices, and forwarding patent certificates. Should have 3+ years intellectual property experience, previous foreign filing experience, and strong computer and research skills. General knowledge of patent filing and patent prosecution rules/regulations is required. Experience using CPI and/or Anaqua docketing software is a plus. Should be detail oriented, highly skilled, flexible, and have the ability to prioritize a busy workload. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
