Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Orlando, Florida, to provide legal counsel to homeowner and condominium associations. This role offers the opportunity to engage in diverse legal matters, working closely with boards and clients in a collaborative setting.

Duties

• Serve as general counsel to condominium and homeowner associations throughout Central Florida.
• Draft, review, and revise governing documents such as declarations, bylaws, and amendments.
• Advise boards on corporate governance, elections, meetings, and budgeting.
• Handle enforcement matters including violation notices and compliance issues.
• Manage fair housing issues and reasonable accommodations.
• Review and negotiate vendor contracts and management agreements.
• Represent associations in pre-litigation disputes, mediation, and litigation.
• Prepare demand letters, estoppel certificates, and board resolutions.
• Respond to developer transitions and special assessment matters.
• Provide clear legal advice to boards and community association managers.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Florida Bar membership.
• 1-5 years of relevant experience preferred in community association law, real estate, or civil litigation.
• Strong drafting and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with a strong client-service orientation.
• Experience with Florida Statutes Chapters 718 and 720 is a plus.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)
